Evaluation Activity 7
Looking back at your preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product.
I started media not even at the start of the course having never really filmed anything before or used any editing software so I guess i learnt alot in the preliminary task and then applied it in our full product.
For our camerawork in our preliminary task we used cams phone and realised that using an iPhone camera is not the best idea and made the quality worse when looking at when using close ups the hand is stretched and looks abnormal but in our actual film we used a proper camera and when we used a close up shot it looked normal and wasn't stretched or anything. So we learned that using a good camera is very effective.
In our preliminary task and our real film we stuck to the 180 degree rule but we progressed a little bit as we made sure that the shots were clearer and that it wouldn't shake as much as it did in our preliminary task.
We also improved our match on action due to the improvement of editing skills that I really needed to improve the editing skills as i've never used iMovie before trying to edit the preliminary task so when we used match on action in the preliminary task is was synced up and really didnt look good at all but now we can edit better we managed to make the match on action look effective and better overall. You can see that we had improved significantly after the preliminary task because to be honest the preliminary task was not that good and the actual film was so much better overall in terms of techniques used and skills gained through the preliminary task.

Evaluation Activity 5
How did you attract/ address your audience?
Our film opening will attract a certain audience due to the fact the opening can be linked to other films in our genre. One of the films is Harry Brown, even though I've mentioned it a lot throughout my blog I feel like the opening can be similar in the aspect of the main features are in both. This is things such as drugs, crime and murder. This will attract the audience that has seen and enjoyed this film as you would think it is similar and therefore be similar in quality, so they would enjoy it. The main aspects will also be in the norms of a crime drama piece and anyone who enjoys a crime drama will want to watch it as it is their sort of film. We also attracted our audience by our choice of music which was the song Warm up by Chris Webby which is a hip hop song and our target audience as described earlier will listen, enjoy and recognise such music and will attract and address our target audience. The unique selling point of our film is that there are certain things that are 'Unexpected' and that is what will frequently happen (Unexpected things) so it will suprise you and make you want to watch more and will attract and audience.
Below is the song that we put in our film, its good.

Evaluation Activity 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
Our sheet said we had to have a drawing of your target audience member but i cant draw so dont judge me. But our target audience would be in between the ages of 18-25 and would be either in college or university and maybe full time work. It will be mostly a male audience and they would usually be from a middle or lower class background. They would also be quite social and enjoy spending times with friends and go to parties and they may also smoke.
Clothes
As they are that age they would most likely wear things such as jeans t-shirts and hoodies. They would wear clothes that look nice and are comfortable to them and when at home will chill in trackies and a t shirt and clothes similar to that. They would also wear clothes that are priced mid range but not too expensive at places like Topman, River Island and online stores such as Asos.
Music
They would listen to a variety of music genres but the main genre would be Hip Hop/Rap and will listen to artists such as Tyler, the creator, childish gambino, chance the rapper etc. (If you havn't heard of them check them out) and will (like me) be most likely always listening to music and will be heavily influenced by the music. They would most likely go to festivals instead of concerts such as nass, reading, bestival etc. not ones such as glastonbury.
TV Preferences
Our audience will watch various genres of film and TV programmes and will mostly watch media in the genre of either comedy. Which is watched to uplift the audience and comedy is a good genre to watch with friends, examples of this will be films such as Step Brothers or Hot Fuzz or he may watch Crime dramas such as Top Boy as they like the crime behind it and the suspence and mystery that is created throughout the piece and the audience may actually relate to certain parts of the film.
Why they would watch our film
They would watch our film as it is in one of their favourite film genres and as they enjoy the suspense and mystery in it they would enjoy our film as the whole thing about our film is that it is unexpected. As our target person would be social it is a film you would see with friends as its better to see it that way so you can guess whats going to happen in the end and things like that.

Evaluation Activity 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
We made an interview style summary about questions that we had to answer. We would write a script of what we said and put it on here but we made rough notes and elaborated on it. We were asked the following questions.
What does a production company do?
The idea of a distributor and who that might be and why?
Where money might have come from for a film such as yours?
Why various people are named in the titles?
What your film is similar to 'Institutionally'? (need to refer to actual company names)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr01eALmPzo This is the link to it!

Evaluation Activity 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
For this activity i chose Harrison (which was the drug dealer with the hat) to compare against other characters similar to him in other TV shows and films. Harrison is similar to other drug dealers as he looks the part, he is wearing a flat peak hat and wearing clothes that aren't too smart but aren't tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie which would imply that he is selling it well and making money off it which when walking past him on the street you wouldnt suspect him to be a drug dealer. Whereas in some films you would defineately know that they a drug dealer. When comparing this to Dushane from Top Boy you can see that he is also wearing clothes that are not often associated with drug dealers as he is wearing jeans, a jumper and a nice watch. Which would imply that he is making money from selling drugs. But Dushanes face looks more aggressive than Harrisons as his facial features are more rough and he looks like the sort of person that would fight when confronted whereas Harrison in our film runs away when faced with trouble. So the way that they act when faced with problems are different and may not represent the particular social group as they will usually stick together and fight instead of leaving them to die as that is what happens in our film. Also the way that they speak are quite different as Dushane speaks in a rougher tone and sounds more agressive and he uses slang swell, where harrison speaks in a proper manner and also with a softer tone. Their role in the film is pretty much the same as they are both serious drug dealers that sell a lot and make a fair amount of money from it as i highlighted earlier. They are both involved in gang culture which will involve violence to random people or other gangs. They are both key characters in the individual films and the story will include them most of the time so overall there are more similarities than differences which is good as Harrison is a key character and it is important to represent particular social groups if he is one of the main characters and if he didn't it may look a bit weird to the audience.
