For this activity i chose Harrison (which was the drug dealer with the hat) to compare against other characters similar to him in other TV shows and films. Harrison is similar to other drug dealers as he looks the part, he is wearing a flat peak hat and wearing clothes that aren't too smart but aren't tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie which would imply that he is selling it well and making money off it which when walking past him on the street you wouldnt suspect him to be a drug dealer. Whereas in some films you would defineately know that they a drug dealer. When comparing this to Dushane from Top Boy you can see that he is also wearing clothes that are not often associated with drug dealers as he is wearing jeans, a jumper and a nice watch. Which would imply that he is making money from selling drugs. But Dushanes face looks more aggressive than Harrisons as his facial features are more rough and he looks like the sort of person that would fight when confronted whereas Harrison in our film runs away when faced with trouble. So the way that they act when faced with problems are different and may not represent the particular social group as they will usually stick together and fight instead of leaving them to die as that is what happens in our film. Also the way that they speak are quite different as Dushane speaks in a rougher tone and sounds more agressive and he uses slang swell, where harrison speaks in a proper manner and also with a softer tone. Their role in the film is pretty much the same as they are both serious drug dealers that sell a lot and make a fair amount of money from it as i highlighted earlier. They are both involved in gang culture which will involve violence to random people or other gangs. They are both key characters in the individual films and the story will include them most of the time so overall there are more similarities than differences which is good as Harrison is a key character and it is important to represent particular social groups if he is one of the main characters and if he didn't it may look a bit weird to the audience.
