Characteristics of other genres

We made a presentation about comedy when looking into other genres for our task.

I made some notes on other codes and conventions of other genres.

Thriller

- There is suspense and tension that is built up throughout, can be due to the to the acting itself but it is mostly heightened because of the music that is used.

- They tend to be fast paced and this fast pace can be adrenaline rushing, this can mean that you may be literally on the 'Edge of your seat'
- In Thriller films there is usually a villain and will therefore have some sort of fighting/violence in it and occasionally there can be some elements of horror.

Sub Genres of thrillers

- Crime Thrillers

Horror
- In horror films it is quite obvious that it has been created to try to scare you, this can be created by some sort of supernatural being or from the safety of your own home and they can try to make it more realistic, such as in films such as 'Paranormal Activity'
Sub Genres:
- Slasher
